Chapter History

Alpha Sigma Tau-Epsilon Beta Chapter started as an interest group called Kappa Alpha Tau and was later picked up by Alpha Sigma Tau in the Fall 2003. We were a colony for two years and officially became a chapter November 19th, 2005 with 19 founding sisters. As of today, we have 26 sisters who define excellence in our extraordinary chapter!

Our first local philanthropy was National Latino AIDS awareness, in which we collaborated with the Valley AIDS council to provide free HIV testing and information to all students. Each Spring semester, we host Mr. AST, an all-male pageant, which started in 2005, to raise funds for our National Philanthropy: Pine Mountain Settlement Schools. In 2012, we won the award Most Money raised towards Pine Mountain Settlement School and were nationally recognized during convention. Though we still continue to host Mr. AST, we have a new local philanthropy. Now, our local philanthropy is Yaqui Animal Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter in Sullivan City, TX. Find out more in our "Philanthropy" section!

We are one of the few chapters in the nation to have such diverse sisters in many cultures. We love to promote and embrace our cultural backgrounds and we continue to grow in diversity and graciousness among our campus and community.
